The successful applicant will be responsible to the Board’s Chief Engineer, and initially part of his duties will be to supervise the installation of . two 24,0001 b per hour water tube boilers and ancillary equipment and laundry plant in the new Central Laundry and Boiler House, which are now in the course of erection. He will be responsible for the maintenance and economic running of all mechanical and electrical services and the proper maintenance of the building fabric at Dunedin Hospital, Nurses’ Home, Queen Mary Maternity Hospital, the Physiotherapy Block, together with the Central Laundry and Boiler House and Open Wing Maternity Hospital when these projects are completed. The Salary payable will be in accordance with the Hospital Employment (Engineers) Regulations, 1957, and will be within either scale (e) £ll4O-£1315 or (f) £lOlO-£ll9O per annum. The commencing rate and ultimate maximum will be that determined by the Department of Health's Engineers Salaries Grading Committee The appointee must be prepared to live within a radius of three miles of Dunedin Hospital.
