World Bank Loan To Malaya
(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) KUALA LUMPHUR, Sept. 22. The Government of Malaya announced today that it had received a loan of 35,600,000 United States dollars from the World Bank for the construction of a hydroelectric power plant in the Cameron Highlands in the centre of Malaya. The loan is for 25 years at sj{ per cent, interest. Contracts for the Cameron Highlands scheme are being placed through international tender. Work is expected to start early in 1959 and be finished in 1964.
