(Rec. 10.30 p.m.) CANBERRA, September 23. The Australian Government was considering referring the Formosa offshore islands dispute to the United Nations, the Acting Minister of External Affairs (Sir Philip Mcßride) said in the House of Representatives today. He was replying to the Leader of the Opposition (Dr. Evatt), who asked the Government to consider the desirability of referring the dispute to the United Nations. Any member nation could seek a cease fire, he.said.
Sir Philip Mcßride said the Australian Government was in daily contact about what was happening in the Formosa Straits.
