“Talents” Returned To Church

Money four tl nes the value of the "talents” received was given by members of the Colombo Street Baptist Church at a service last evening. Seventy-six members who had each been given a new pound note last June returned £395 and there is still some to come. Based on the parable of the talents in the Bible, the scheme to raise the money has been operating for about 12 weeks.

In that time, the congregation has used a wide variety of means to increase the money trusted to them, including buying and selling of all descriptions, gardening, and driving instruction. The money has been raised to pay for interior renovation and decorations of the church, and the minister (Bev. A. L. Silcock) said last evening that there would be just kb>»ut enough.
