WELLINGTON, September 21. The opening day of the Otaki Maori Racing Club’s spring meeting was held yesterday in fine weather. There was a large attendance and the track was fast. The T.A.B. double. Golden Luca in the Raukawa Handicap, and Bamboo in the Hema Te Ao Handicap, paid £7 9s for £l. The totalisator on-course handled £68,900, including £12,551. 10s on doubles, compared with £46,871 10s last year, an increase of £22,028 10s.
