Misses A. Snow and K. Williams; men’s doubles, M. C. Healey and L. Minson; mixed doubles, Mrs R Lovegrove and M. C. Healey. Handicap Events.—Women’s singles, Mrs R. Lovegrove; men’s singles, P. Alexander; women’s doubles. Misses A. Snow and K. Williams; men’s doubles, W. Lindsay and Pl Alexander; mixed doubles, Mrs Shirlaw and T. Lovegrove. Junior Events.—Girls’ singles, Claire Rawson; boys' singles, Ross Cooper; girls’ doubles, Claire Rawson and Alisa Noonan; boys’ doubles, Ross Cooper and Graeme Hastie; mixed doubles, Claire Rawson and Graeme Hastie; beginners’ singles, Christine Roberts; most improved boy, Kipp Alexander; most improved girl. Sue Spitzer; most promising junior, Claire Rawson.
Ancient Tomb Opened.—Professor Michael Kelly, Professor of Archaeology at University College, Cork, has completed excavaS on ® on a megalithic tomb near Rear Cross. Tipperary. Potsherds, proken flints and arrowheads and the remains of two cremated bugals were found. The evidence the tomb dates from about 4000 years ago.
