228 Teams Compete At Auckland (New Zealand Press Association) t AUCKLAND, Sept. 21. Wanganui and Auckland Maori 1 ■hared the major prizes in the New Zealand tournament held by the Auckland Catholic Basketball Association during the week-end. With 228 teams, and some 2000 players, the tournament was the biggest of its kind ever held in New Zealand. Wanganui beat Auckland Maori I In the major championship final, but the positions were reversed in the major knock-out competition. St. Mary’s College dominated the secondary school contests.
