English Tournament To Weetman
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) BIRMINGHAM, Sept. 20. Harry Weetman, the English international golfer, won his* third major golf tournament of the season when he took first prize of £lOOO in the Dunlop Masters’ tournament, at the Little Aston course today. The winner of the Penfold Swallow and match play events this season,. Weetman today had a final round of 71, to finish with a 72-holes aggregate of 276. The runner-up was Bobby Locke (South Africa), whose brilliant last round of 67 gave him an aggregate of 280.
Third place, at 282, went to Henry Cotton, who returned a 71 today. Peter Thomson (Australia), the British open champion, finished well down the list, with a total of 290.
Hole-In-One
J. W. Jackson, the Waitikiri Club Woodward Cup player, scored a hole-in-one at the Waitikiri course during the week-end. Using a No. 8 iron, he holed his tee shot on the 125yard third hole.
