Points From Other Letters
J. F. Rasmussen suggests that owners of old cars who cannot arrange insurance on them should join him in vigorously protesting against this treatment, which he regards as unreasonable. -If car insurance does not pay, the premiums should be raised, he says.
"Spy” suggests that the Canterbury Pilgrims and Early Settlers’ Association, “which has always done grand front-line defence of the park,” immediately organise a monster petition praying for South Hagley Park. The writer is confident such a petition would draw thousands of signatures. “Lover of Men” was impressed by the views put forward on homes for the aged by Dr. J. L. Newman, medical superintendent of Cornwall Hospital, when addressing a seminar at Auckland. In many cases, well-meaning people try to do too much for old persons and so squander money as well as contented minds. “Do the married aged have enough say in their own: homes for the aged problems?” asks the writer. “By Bread Alone” says it is not suggested that the overworked staffs of mental hospitals fail to do all they can for the betterment of their chargs, but contends there is still little treatment because of overcrowding and understaffing.
