Win For Great Brittania*
(New Zealand Press Association) CAMBRIDGE, Sept. 7. The weather was fine and the track good for the Cambridge Trotting Club’s meeting on Saturday. There was an exciting finish to the Cambridge Trotting Cup when the locally-trained Great Brittania, after being badly placed, came through in the straight to overhaul Gay Wanderer and win by half a length. Red Monarch finished on for a third, ahead of Goodfellow, which weakened, and Scoot, which received a bad run. The second leg of the double went to Dove Dale. The combination returned a double dividend of £134 2s 6d for £l.
The totalisator on-course handled £24,838 10s. There was no corresponding meetitfg last year.
