Lambs Shot Two cases of indiscriminate shooting of lambs were reported to the Carterton police last week. On a West Taratahi farm 16 lambs \yere found dead and several wounded, all having been shot, according to veterinary surgeons, with .22 rifles. The other case reported was at Martinborough were 11 lambs have been found shot on one property. —(P.A.) Burnside Park Burnside Park will 7 be doubled in size by the addition of 36 acres of Crown land lying between' Memorial highway, Avonhead road and Woolridge road. The transfer of this area has been announced in the Gazette. Power pylons carry high tension lines across this land, but the Waimairi County Council does not expect these to be a hindrance. The park would be laid out accordingly, said ths county engineer (Mr D. P. McLellan). Guided Weapons In U.K. The guided weapons park at the Farnborough air display early this month will have an operational look about it: the Army and the Royal Air Force will be showing how certain missiles are prepared for action. Some of those on display will be the Bloodhound, the Seaslug, the Thunderbird, the Fireflash and the Firestreak. Another exhibit will be a rocketrpowered antitank weapon.
