Championships In Auckland
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 31. Thirty-nine teams of four from all parts of New Zealand met in Auckland at the week-end in th'e New Zealand contract bridge tournament, which is expected to finish tomorrow. Results so far are:— First round: A. Friedlaner (Auckland) 1, W. J. Hutchinson (Wellington) 2, B. C. Bell (Auckland) 3, W. F. Williams (Auckland) 4. New Zealand Plate: J. D. Thomp-' son (Christchurch) 1, Mrs H. O. Taylor (Auckland) 2, Mrs U. Arthur (Auckland) 3, Mrs B. Sanders (Auckland) 4.
