SHEEP LOST IN OTAGO

Grass Fires Out Of Control (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, August 10. More than 100 sheep were thought to have been killed in grass and vegetation fires that swept over several parts of Central Otago during the week-end. About 8000 acres of grassland were blackened. The sheep were lost between Hyde and Green Valley, about 60 miles to the north-west of Dunedin. The fire began when farmers were burning off.
