CRIPPLED CHILDREN’S COMPETITIONS
Success Of Canterbury Entries Several children registered with the Canterbury and West Coast branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society have won prizes in the recent handcraft competitions, held annually by the Wanganui branch of the society. This year, more than 250 entries from all parts of New Zealand were received. “Many of the entries reached a very high standard, particularly when it is remembered that all children competing have some physical handicap,” says a report from the local branch. Prize winners in the Canterbury ind West Coast branch were as follows: — Hand knitting (7 to 9 years): Christine Roberts 1, Anne Marie O’Donoghue 2. Toys <lO to 12 years): Margaret Ann Cavell 2, Christine Le Poidevin, commended. Tapestry (16 to 18 years): Bruce McLean 1. r
