SHEARING COURSES PLANNED

Three one-week courses for machine shearers, who are able already to shear 100 or more sheep a day, will be held at Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln, this month under the auspices of the Wool Board. The courses, which will be held from August 11 to 15, August 18 to 22, and August 25 to 29, will provide instruction for a total of 50 men, including nine from the North Canterbury district. Three further courses for a total of 52 learners, including 15 from North Canterbury, will be held from October 14 to 23, December 2 to 11, and January 27 to February

Next Tuesday and Wednesday a course of shearing instruction will be conducted in Mr W. B. Cooper’s shed at Domett by the Wool Board’s North Canterbury instructor, Mr W. Johnston. On the second day Mr I. S. Miller, sheep and wool instructor for the Department of Agriculture, will give demonstrations and instructions on wool handling.
