Poverty Bay Beats Bush, 12-3
(New Zealand Press Association) GISBORNE, August 6. In fine weather, on a fast field this afternoon, Poverty Bay beat Bush by 12 points (four tries) to 3 (a penalty goal). Although outweighted. the Poverty Bay forwards were faster than those of Bush. They won the rucks, bustled the Bush backs, and paved the way for successful back attacks. Tries for Poverty Bay were scored by R. Johnstone (2). K. Webber, and J. Strong. The Bush penalty goal was kicked by R. Eames.
