Cricket RAIN SPOILS MATCH

Glamorgan And N.Z. Draw (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) SWANSEA, August 5. Rain robbed New Zealand’s match with Glamorgan at Swansea of much of its interest, and a draw was inevitable. During the limited period when play was possible, however, New Zealand were well on top. Gaining a first innings lead of 202 they made Glamorgan follow on, but time was always against them. There was only an hour and 40 minutes of cricket on the second day, and an hour and a half on the closing day, but Moir, bowling his leg-spinners, used a clever variation of flight and did much to make up for lost time. When Glamorgan resumed their innings after a delay of three hours they were always struggling and then the six- remaining wickets fell tor 47. Of these Moir captured five at a cost of only 15. Miller and Cave held brilliant catches in the deep field. After Glamorgan had lost two second innings wickets rain fell to hasten the end.
