£400 For Crippled Children Society

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. August 6. The Wellington branch of the Crippled Children Society todav received by post an anonymous gift of £4OO in the form of eight £5O notes. The money was in an inner envelope, the outside one being addressed in the usual manner to the society and carrying a 3d stamp. The secretary (Mrs T. Souper) said that this was the second pleasant surprise she had had Some time ago a man entered the office, said he wished to give an anonymous donation to the society, handed her an envelope, and disappeared before she could give him a receipt. The envelope on that occasion contained £5OO.
