WEAR ON TEETH OF SHEEP

Effect Of Better Pastures The improvement of pastures in New Zealand is ruining the teeth of sheep, thereby reducing the quantity of wool and causing financial loss to farmers, according to the report of the Department of 'Scientific and Industrial Research, presented to the House o* Representatives. The micro-structure of sheep’s teeth was being determined in cc-operation with Massey Agricultural College, the report said ‘‘The excessive wear of teeth, caused by improved pastures, curtails the useful life of sheep.” it said. Some progress had been made in the investigation, and it was anticipated that certain sections ot the work would provide additional knowledge on the structure of human teeth. Much of the research had been carried out with micrographs, with a magnification of 72.000.
