Mafia Bandits Kill Two Doctors
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) PALEMRO (Sicily), Aug. 4.
Mafia bandits last night ambushed and killed two doctors on a lonely road near Palermo, riddling theii- car with machinegun bullets.
One of the doctors was a Mafia member, the police said. It was the most serious killing for more than a year by the dreaded Sicilian secret society.
Tonight people of the small town of Corleone sat behind closed dobrs, and refused to discuss the killing. They were obeying the iron law of silence of Mafia’s “underground government."
