(New Zeaiana Press Association) AUCKLAND. August 5. A plastic cover, possibly the first one to be so used in New Zealand, will be put on the centre of Carlaw Park tomorrpw afternoon to guard against wet weather before the second Rugby League test match on Saturday between New Zealand and Britain. The secretary of the Auckland Rugby League (Mr R. G. McGregor) said today that its use was only experimental “ About two-thirds of the ground between the twenty-fives will be covered,” said Mr McGregor. This was the portion mainly cut-up during the first test match last month. The cover will be lifted during the day if the weather is fine. The park had dried out remarkably well, although there was still a thin slick of mud in centre-field. If the field can be rolled and cut! tomorrow it should dry to a satis-< factory footing All the reservable seats for the! test have been booked, and an even I larger crowd than was at the first! test is expected. 1
