MINOR FIRES
The upholstery of a car in the Christchurch Wrecking Company’s premises caught fire yesterday morning, but it was extinguished before much damage was done. The car was being cut down with a welding torch. One unit from the Woolston brigade answered a call at 9.51 a.m. The Sydenham brigade answered a call to a chimney fire at 88 Montreal street at 9.18 am yesterday, and the St. Albans brigade attended a chimney fire at 14 Claremont avenue at 10 a.m. There was no damage in either case.
Another chimney fire occurred in a house occupied by Mr C. F. Frederick Dyer at 368 Montreal street, at 5.58 p.m. There was no damage. A unit from the Central fire station attended. A unit from Woolston attended a chimney fire in a house occupied by Lydire Mosaluk at 140 Gayhurst road at 7.17 p.m. There was no damage.
