TRIBUTES TO LORD BLEDISLOE
(New Zealand Preu Association) WELLINGTON, July 4. The Prime Minister (Mr Nash), paying a tribute to Lord Bledis* loe, former Governor-General eg New Zealand who has died in England, said: “The world is better because Lord Bledisloe lived. Everyone who knew him will feel some regret at his passing, but he will never be forgotten.” Mr Nash said that he had known Lord Bledisloe since he himself first entered Parliament rearly 30 years ago and had visited him in England. The passing of Lord Bledisloe would be deeply regretted by all New Zealanders, said the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Holyoake). During the period oi worldwide depression the friendly charm of Lord and Lady Bledi*. loe endeared them to New Zealanders and did much to strengthen the bonds between New Zap land and the United Kingdom* said Mr Holyoake.
