POST OFFICE PROMOTIONS

New Savings Bank Manager

Mr D. Donnelly has been appointed manager of the Savings Bank branch of the Chief Post Office, Christchurch. He was previously manager at Hamilton, and succeeds Mr E. Caldwell, who was recently promoted to Chief Postmaster, Wanganui. Other recent promotions are:— Mr W. C. Gilbert, senior supervisor, telephone branch, has been promoted to a similar position in the zone telephone accounts branch.

Mr H. V. Patchett, postmaster, Amberley, promoted to a similar position at New Brighton. He was previously postmaster at Shirley. The accountant of the Savings Bank at Ashburton, Mr J. H. Thomson, has been promoted to the position of assistant accountant, Whangarei. Mr S. A. Grant, postmaster at Waikari, is promoted to a similar position at Alexandra. Mr L. G. Park, postmaster at Akaroa, has been promoted to a similar position at Kaikoura. He was previously postmaster at Waiau.

Mr H. N. Turnbull, postmaster at Runanga, has been transferred to a similar position at Shirley. Some years ago he was stationed at Papanui. Mr R. E. Eagle, senior clerk, has been promoted to supervisor, motor registration branch (South Island).
