VANDALS DAMAGE SCHOOL
Ink, Glue Smeared In Classrooms (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 4 Vandals who entered the Mangere Bridge primary school last night caused such a mess with school books, ink, water, and glue that the school’s 400 pupils were sent home this morning while teachers cleaned up. The intruders took a small microphone, a starting pistol, and about £7 in a cash box from the headmaster’s office. On a blackboard was scrawled. “Jailhouse Rockers. If you tell, we’ll z burn the school.” Glue and ink were splashed about, fire hoses were left running, and cupboards were forced open, although the keys had been taken from the office. The police are investigating.
