CHURCH VIEWS ON ORR CASE

(Rec. 11 p.m.) HOBART, July 4. A second Presbyterian church has dissociated itself from the stand taken by the Scots Kirk session in the Orr case. The moderator of the kirk session of the St Columba's Presbyterian Church, the Very Rev. R. J. Scrlmgeour, today made a statement on the case.

He said the session was gravely concerned at the “false position” in which the Presbyterian Church . of Tasmania had befcn placed by the action of the Scots Kirk session. On Tuesday, that session accused the University of Tasmania of creating and maintaining a “complete subversion of British justice."

The Scots session also found Mr Sydney Sparks Orr innocent of charges of misconduct with a student, Suzanne Kemp, which led to his dismissal as professor of philosophy at the University of Tasmania.
