Expense Of Halswell Hall Repairs

The expense involved in repairing the halls described in a report from the Health Department might be too great for local people to afford, (aid Cr. J. O. Macartney yesterday in reference to his remark after the repert had been reed at the Halswell County Council meeting on' Thursday. "It is reaching a stage now where some of these halls will have to close up it the inspectors get too tough," he said yesterday. He had no intention of suggesting that the council would close the halls. He would be strongly opposed to the council doing so.
