MAGISTRATE FOR CITY

Appointment Of Mr A. P. Blair (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 20. The appointment as a magistrate of Mr Archibald Patrick Blair, barrister and solicitor, of Gisborne, was announced today by the Minister of Justice (Mr Mason). Mr Blair has been appointed to Christchurch. Born at Gisborne in 1912, Mr Blair was educated at Christ's College and at Auckland University, graduating as a bachelor of laws in 1937 and as a master of laws in 1938, being admitted as a barrister and solicitor in the same year. Mr Blair is a member of the council of the Gisborne District Law Society. He will take up his duties at Christchurch in early August and will replace Mr L. N. Ritchie, S.M., who has been transferred to the Gisborne circuit to fill the vacancy arising from the death of Mr E. Walton, S.M.
