DOMINION R.S.A. CONFERENCE
Protest Letter To Mr Nash (Neto Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. June ID. An urgent letter protesting against remarks by a Government member in the House of Representatives on Tuesday concerning the strength of the Re-j turned Services’ Association opposition to the proposed aboil-! tion of compulsory military train-1 ing, was sent today to the Prime! Minister (Mr Nash). The letter, signed by the| Dominion president (Mr K. W., Fraser) and written on the in-1 structions of the conference, refuted the suggestion by the member for Ponsbnby (Mr R. Macdonald) that the opposition was being voiced by a “noisy few.’’ “Having regard to the strong and sincere feeling manifested by delegates to this conference, I consider that the statement referring to a ‘noisy few’ is an insult to a responsible body of the community,’’ said Mr Fraser. He also drew attention to a .resolution requesting an appointment with the Prime Minister as I soon as possible after the publica- ' tion of the White Paper on defence.
