New President Of Association
Mr J. A. Moreland, of Cambridge was elected president of the New Zealand Jersey Cattle Association at a special meeting of the New Zealand Jersev Council after the annual meeting of the association in Christchurch yesterday. Mr M. N. Trotter, of Karaka. was elected vioe-president. ' Mr Moreland is one of the younger members of the council, representing the Waikato ward, and is the owner of the Beechlands stud. A senior judge and breed type classifier, he is a son of the late Mr A. Moreland, formerly a noted breeder. The election was. made necessary bv the result of a postal ballot for the South Island ward in which the sitting member, Mr L. A. Higgins (Nelson), the retiring president, was defeated by Mr T. M. 'Fleming (Rangiora).
