MAN BURNED IN PETROL FIRE

Hurrying to extinguish a small fire in his smoke-filled workshop las* evening, a man fell over an open tin of petrol, which ignited and badly burned his arms and legs. He is Mr I. Chapman, aged 42. of Woodend. Mr Chapman was ’reated by a Kaiapoi doctor at 7.30 p.m. and about 8 p.m. was taken to the Burwood Hospital by St John ambulance. Units from the Kaiapoi Volunteer Fire Brigade quickly extinguished the fire. Late last evening Mr Chapman’s ’’on Jition was reported to be satisfactory.
