FAREWELL TO N.Z. WATERS

Wainui Sails For Hong Kong (New Zeaiana Prpss Axeonatton) TIMARU. June 6. Flying her new name flags H.P.N.T. the Amonea, formerly the Union Steam Ship Company’s Wainui, said farewell to New Zealand waters this morning when she sailed from the port of Timaru for Brisbane, en route for Hong Kong. The New Zealand ensign, which had been so proudlyworn for more than 25 years, was relegated to the foremast as a courtesy flag, and in its place at the stern was the Panamanian flag, representing the country in which she is now registered. As she cleared the harbour entrance the Chinese master. Captain Sit Ka Sing, signalled the ship’s farewell with blasts on her whistle.
