THE NEW AERODROME AT RANGIORA.—A 75-acre block has been leased by the Rangiora Businessmen’s Association and the Canterbury Aero Club for a field to be used by light aircraft as an alternative to Harewood. Working bees in the development programme have been assisted by local bodies’ and private contractors’ machinery. There are two runways—the longer is 2600 feet. This runway is nearer the river and its north-east end is near the entrance to the field. The field is expected to be operational in the spring. Rangiora township is in the top right of the picture.
