New Move At • U.N. NEW YORK. June 5. The Algerian nationalist movement in New York is to ask the 28-nation African-Asian group at the United Nations to see that the Algerian question is placed on the agenda of the next General Assembly, in spite of the apparent endorsement by General Charles de Gaulle, the French Prime Minister. of Algerian nationalism. In Algiers yesterday the new French Premier pledged equality of voting for the French and Moslems of Algeria, and invited Algerian nationalists to participate in elections. A spokesman for the movement in New York said tonight that he would make a formal request to the African-Asian group tornorrow that it meet next week to discuss the Algerian situation and take steps to have the item placed on the agenda of the assembly. “General de Gaulle deliberately ignored a fundamental issue in Algeria, namely the struggle of a people for independence.** he declared. “We want to move Hpw, while the Algerian question is still in the minds of the people, to have it placed on the agenda.”
Wheat For China. — About 10.500 tons of Western Australian wheat will be shipped from Fremantle this month to China, the Australian Wheat Board chairman. Sir John Teasdale, said last night. It would be the first shipment to China for some years, he said. —Perth, June 6.
