Protest Meeting Next JFeejc Raw milk consumers* protests will be aired at a public meeting on Wednesday next week, two days before the June meeting of the Christchurch Metropolitan Milk Board. The meeting, which has been called by the Christchurch Milk Consumers’ Protection Association, will be under the chairmanship of the Deputy-May or (Mr L. G. Amos). Members of the Milk Board, both voting members and others, had been invited to attend, said the association secretary (Mr G. J. Watson), yesterday. “It looks as though the board will, on June 13, restore the right of choice, but that the Medical Officer of Health (Dr. A. Douglas) will veto it under his special powers,” said Mr Watson. Before Dr. Douglas was given authority to disinfect the city’s milk supplies, said Mr Watson yesterday, he sent duplicate telegrams to the Ministers of Health and- Agriculture. in reply, the Acting-Minister of Agriculture (Mr Boord) said that the association’s views had been noted, and the matter was receiving the attention of the New Zealand Milk Board and the Minister of Health (Mr Mason)* Mr Watson said.
Wednesday’s meeting will be held at 8 p.m. in the Jellicoe Hall.
