TALOS MISSILE AT SEA.—Gunner’s Mate Donald Welch of Seymour, Texas, takes a look from a turret hatchway at the sharp-nosed Bendix-Talos guided missile aboard the U.S.S. Galveston, the first cruiser to be equipped with the supersonic missile. The ship joined the fleet after commissioning at Philadelphia on May 28. The missile is designed to guard against air attack and has a range of up to 65 miles.
