Rocky Creek Bridge Still Closed

Although motorists were permitted to use the Arthur’s Pass road to the West Coast yesterday at their own risk the road Will not be officially opened until the Rockey creek bridge has been permanently repaired. This information was given by the Automobile Association (Canterbury) last evening. The bridge was repaired temporarily on Monday. The road is officially open only as far as Otira and it is said to be very rough from the summit to the bottom of the gorge.
