Skylight Jumps Soundly

Skylight, which will probably race at the Oamaru Jockey Club’s winter meeting next Saturday week, gave his usual sound display in a run over five hurdles at Riccarton yesterday. He was ridden in the trial by R. J. Blair. The Callander five-year-old, a member of G. S. Barr’s team, is raced by Mr and Mrs E. W. Woodham, of Oamaru. He was bought for 740gns at the Chelandry Stud dispersal sale in February. Since coming to Riccarton he has had 10 races for three minor placings worth £7O.

Skylight has been nominated for the Hack Hurdle Handicap and the Oamaru Winter Cup. If the former event is chosen as his mission his first test as a hurdler will be followed with considerable interest.
