Fellowships Offered This Year

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 4.

The South-East Asia Treaty Organisation is again offering this year between 10 and 15 research fellowships to nationals of its eight member countries. Grants under the scheme are normally for a period of from four to 10 months and comprise a monthly allowance of 400 dollars and tourist-class return air travel.

The field of research is restricted to the Manila treaty area and the S.E.A.T.O. member countries — Australia, France, New Zealand. Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States —but, in special cases, research may be approved in non-member countries.

Applications close with the S.E.A.T.O. Division of the Department of External Affairs, Wellington, on August 1. JX.
