Unexpected Win By British Pair (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) PARIS, May 28 The unseeded British pair, Bobby Wilson and Alan Mills, won their way into the semi-finals of the men’s doubles in the French tennis championships today. They beat the fourth-seeded Australian pair, Mervyn Rose and Warren Woodcock, 6-8. 5-7, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. The unexpected win of the English pair was the highlight of a day’s programme confined to doubles play. In the women’s doubles, Shirley Bloomer and Ann Haydon, of Britain, beat the Australian, Margaret Hellyer, and Mrs Ginette Bucaille. of France, to win, 6-1, 6-4, in 34 minutes, and enter the semi-finals. The top-seeded Australian pair, AsMey Cooper and Neale Fraser, were taken to five sets by the Indian Davis Cup pair, Ramanathan Krishnan and Naresh Kumar. The final score was, 6-4, 6-2, 4-6, 3-6, 6-0.
