Motor Cycling North Island Gains Most Points In Scramble

PALMERSTON NTH., April 28. Conditions were wintry for the second annual inter-island motorcycle scramble championships held at the Whakarongo course on Saturday. Thirty-six riders from all parts of the Dominion took part in the 15 events. The circuit was fairly moist from overnight rain. The many turns and lumps over grass and through mud holes tested the skill of the riders. The North Island team scored the highest number of points during the day—l72—while the South Island team scored 142. R. Harris, of Christchurch, scored the highest number of points with 23. while the top scorer for the North Island was H. Anderson, of Ohinewai, with 19 points.
