JEWELLERY WORTH £l000 STOLEN

Theft From Showcase In Wellington Shop (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 28. Diamond rings and valuable watches, conservatively estimated as worth £lOOO, were stolen from a showcase at the jewellery premises of W. Littlejohn and Son. Ltd., Lambton quay, Wellington, between 12.30 a.m. and 2 a.m. today. The theft was discovered by a passer-by about 2 a.m., who notified the police. The manager of the shop (Mr R. B. Palmer) said today the jewellery stolen consisted of 18 diamond rings and six watches. The shop was very close to the Central Police Station.
