PLEASANT POINT CALF SALE
1500 Head Bring Good Prices
(From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, April 15. The eastern section, the first of the two annual breeders’ calf sales held • today at Pleasant Point, numbered fully 1500 head. All breeds penned were true to type, well grown, well drafted, with few tail-end lots.
The offering was the first catalogued calf sale held in South Canterbury and it was an outstanding success from both vendors’ and purchasers* point of view. Values were:
Aberdeen Angus steer calves, £l3 5s to £lB 15s; Aberdeen Angus heifer calves, £l2 to £l5 15s; Aberdeen Angus-Hereford cross steer calves, £l4 to £23; Aberdeen Angus-Hereford cross heifer calves, £lO to £l7 10s; Herefprd steer calves, £l4 10s to £l7 10s; Hereford heifer calves, £l3 10s to £2O; Shorthorn steers and heifers, £l2 to £2O.
