PROPOSED CHAPEL AT SUNNYSIDE
Donation Received From Temuka
A donation of £l7 has been sent to the Christchurch Presbyterian Social Service Association by members of the Presbvterian Church, Temuka, towards the building of an interdenominational chanel at Sunnyside Hospital. The association will hold the money in trust until it can be used on the chapel. At a meeting of the Christchurch Presbytery recently it was made known that there was an urgent need for a chapel at the hospital.
The donation was made because members of the Temuka Church felt the need to do something towards making conditions at the hospital better. The association’s hospital chaplain (the Rev I. B. Wilson) visited the Temuka Church recently and described work already being done at the hospital. A deputation from the association is to meet the National Council of Churches and ask that committees be formed to consider design, policy and control and ways of raising funds.
