BOWLING FEAT BY DONNELLY
Ball Used Found In Sydney (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, April 11. A silver-mounted cricket ball carrying the inscription “M.P.D., 10 for 8, 12/12/36,” was fpupd in a paddock in Gordon, a Sydney suburb. ; .'.W ' ; Tfietball Wxs Claimed this week by M&Hin Paterson Donnelly, a former liew" Zealand international ricketer, who now lives in Sydney. Donnelly also played for Warwickshire and captained Oxford University. He scored a record 206 for New Zealand in a test match at Lord s in 1949. He also played Rugby for England. Donnelly was captaining the New Plymouth Boys’ High School first eleven against New Plymouth Old Boys when he took the 10 wickets for eight runs. The match was played in the senior competition, and New Plymouth High School won by six wickets. Six of Donnelly’s victims were bowled and four were l.b.w. His figures were 7 overs, 2 maidens. 8 runs, 10 wickets. On the Monday after this match, Donnelly played his last school match against Nelson Coliege. In that match he took six for 23 off 15 overs.
