LONDON MEAT MARKET

Good Demand Expected

A cold spell in the United Kingdom has delayed the arrival bf home-killed lamb, and this is expected to help the demand for New Zealand lamb, advises the London office of the Bank of New Zealand in its monthly market survey. Lightweight lambs have been bringing 22d a lb and seconds of 311 b average from 22d. to 24d. The demand for meat in the United Kingdom has remained good with the colder weathei creating a demand for beef. This has also been reflected in a substantial rise in the demand foi forequarter meat, frozen beef, and ewe mutton and other cheaper types. The price of home-killed pork has risen as a result oi higher bacon prices, and this could also assist the lamb market.
