SILVER PEAKS HERMIT
Search Party Unsuccessful In spite of intensified searching by armed settlers and a party of police from Dunedin, no sign has been found of the Hermit of Silver Peaks, who has been living in a smoke-blackened cave near Mosgiel for two years or more. A member of the search party at Silver Peaks Station said that heavy rain and cold weather had hampered the search. He said that the police party had returned to Dun.edin, and the search would be resumed after the holidays. Another bundle of the hermit’s belongings had been discovered near one of the caves, but there were so many caves in the area that searchers were meeting considerable difficulty.
