N.Z. DINNER IN NEW YORK

Overseas Press Club Plans (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 9 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 1. The Matson liner Mariposa is due in San Francisco today with a very special cargo—a complete New. Zealand dinner for 180 persons to be served at the Overseas Press Club in New York in a few days. Also on board is 1801 b of ice hacked from the Tasman Glacier which will cool the guests' predinner drinks. The menu includes such New Zealand delicacies as toheroa soup and paua fritters. The New Zealand Parliamentary Press Gallery in Wellington advised in the selection of the food. The soup will be prepared by Mr George Ovide, the Overseas Press Club’s chef, from a recipe use in State dinners at Parliament House in Wellington for the Queen, Prince Philip and the Queen Mother during the Royal tours of 1954 and 1958. Sir Leslie Munro, the New Zealand Ambassador to the United States and president of the United Nations General Assembly, wiU welcome guests to the dinner. The dinner will be the twentyfifth in a series of regional dinners in which governments or tourist promotion organisations have been hosts to members oi the Overseas Press Club.
