Local Elections

Sir,—l notice Mr R. H. Stillwell, who was at the top of unsuccessful candidates at the last election for the City Council, was not selected by the Labour Party for the by-election. The Labour members made a big song about the Hospital Board vacancy and yet they have done a somewhat similar action by turning down a runner-up. Surely this is not fair when Mr Stillwell was next in public favour at the last election. —Yours, etc., DEMOCRACY. March 30, 1958.
