Driver Fined For Interference

(New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, March 30. T. Ferguson, the driver of Goodfellow in the Egmont Handicap on the second day of the Taranaki Trotting Club’s meeting at New Plymouth on Saturday, was fined £lO for an error of judgment during the race which caused two other drivers to become unseated. The judicial committee found that the incident was caused through Goodfellow being driven too close to Folder and striking his sulky. This caused Goodfellow to be checked momentarily, and in turn the drivers of Cruising Dell and Papatawa were unseated. The committee unanimously decided that Ferguson was guilty of an eror of. judgment in allowing his horse to strike the sulky in front.
